Our Food Bank is run completely by volunteers. Our board members, our volunteers who distribute food on Saturdays, those who gather on Friday evenings to sort food—every single person is a volunteer. Join our community of volunteers today by helping us with sorting and distribution!

If you would like to volunteer your time or skills, we would love to have you join us, either by helping sort food on Fridays, or helping with our distribution every Saturday!). Please contact us if you want to sign up or have questions. We welcome 14-year-olds and older on Saturdays and 12-year-olds and older on Fridays. Youth aged 12 or 13 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

  • Contact us here, and tell us you are interested in helping! Our volunteer coordinator will get back to you about the next steps.

  • Our only recommendation for volunteers for our Friday and Saturday events is being able to comfortably stand for about 2 to 3 hours.

    Additionally:

    • We are always seeking Spanish-speaking volunteers as well as volunteers who know ASL during our Saturday distribution.

    • Some roles require particularily strong/agile volunteers. Sign up if that describes you or if you'd like a workout!

  • After you sign-in, you will be directed to where you will be doing your work, or asked to help prepare for the distribution. We will explain everything you need to know! Ask us as many questions along the way.

  • There are different things you may end up doing as a volunteer.

    Friday:

    • Moving produce from the parking lot to indoors.

    • Sorting produce into bags

    Saturday:

    • Interacting with visitors

    • Loading food into visitor cars

    • Directing traffic to the distribution

    • Packing grocery bags

    • Running food from the pantry to the distribution

  • From church groups to sororities and fraternities, we love hosting groups! If you're part of a group that is interested in volunteering, please contact us.

  • Yes:

    Friday:

    • You must be 12 or older to volunteer.

    • If you are 12 or 13, you must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

    Saturday:

    • You must be 14 or older to volunteer.

  • Yes! Before you leave, ask for a signature on your community service form. Make sure you print the form before hand!
